In australia every summer we face raging wildfires know here as bush fires. often occurring a heatwave days of extreme heat often climb to temperature in excess of 40 c (115 f ) . In the summer of 2008-9 just after Christmas and a prolonged drought over much of australia.we had one of these events , over several day we had heat in excess of 40 o C with northerly winds reaching speeds in-excess of 90 miles an hour . and so it raged covering distance 20 miles in half hour trapping people in their homes . despite the extreme bravery of fire fighters not man nor machine had a hope of stopping it .It result result in one of the greatest nature disasters in Australia history with horrendous loss of life |
